Why do I publish with Science Target? top icon

Science Target Journals emphasize quality and needs of the academic community.

  • Fair peer review: Science Target Journals are full blind peer-reviewed journals dedicated to publishing high quality research. Submissions are assessed by your peers on the basis of scientific quality and validity.

  • Prestigious editorial board: All Science Target Journals have prestigious and multidisciplinary Editorial Review Board from around the globe who serve voluntarily to maintain Journal’s quality standards.

  • No page or word limit: Articles are accepted in Science Target Journals based on the validity of the research that they present without limits on manuscript length or number of figures.

  • Flexible scope: Science Target Journals expand their scope beyond the boundaries of any narrowly-defined subject area providing room for quality and legitimate contributions that allow for discovering new connections between disciplines. Science Target facilitates publication of research in underrepresented disciplines, interconnections between fields, and interdisciplinary exploration.

  • Priority review process: Science Target Journals departs from the traditional editorial structure of one single editor governing peer review for an entire publication. Instead, successfully submitted manuscript that falls within the Journal’s scope is rapidly assigned to a member of the editorial review board and external scholar with the relevant expertise to shepherd the article through peer review and make a final decision within 2-3 weeks depending on reviewer’s cooperation.

  • Rapid publication: Science Target adopts continuous-publication format which supporting daily publication of accepted manuscripts. Manuscripts do not have to wait for editorial calendar, publishing cycle or their slot in a print edition. Accepted manuscripts will directly be available online in a PDF format with an assigned volume and issue number.

  • Authors retain copyright: Science Target Journals use the CC-BY license to ensure that authors retain the copyright over their work.

  • Open access and visibility: Science Target Journals are Open Access which means that everyone can freely access, download, read, and print your article without paying subscription fees, pay-per-view charges, or any other restrictions.  Publishing with Science Target makes it easier for you to comply with your funder's policies and help increasing the impact of your research in a short time as your work is incredibly visible and widely distributed.

  • Competitive publishing charges: Although the publication is open access, there are still costs at every stage of the publication process, including but not limited to proofreading, copyediting and typesetting, as well as hosting the article on dedicated servers. These expenses are recovered by charging the author an article publication charge (APC) upon acceptance of their manuscript. In all cases, decisions to publish are based solely on editorial criteria. APC starts at CAD $200 and vary depending on the journal. Also, Science Target Publication Fund may grant 50% of APC to authors of refereed papers on a case-by-case basis.

  • Indexing and abstracting: Open access provides high visibility and increased access to your research. The descriptive information about your deposited work will be indexed and crawled by Google and other search engines. Research suggests that open access to online articles may increase citation impact by 50-250%, depending on discipline, specialty, and year. Science Target journals will be put forward to all relevant abstracting and indexing services, including ISI Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed, EBSCO, AGRICOLA, ERIC, Food Science and Technology Abstracts, IngentaConnect, INSPEC, ProQuest, SpringerLink, Mendeley, NCJRS, PubChem, Questia, Science Citation Index, Social Science Citation Index, WorldCat and Google Scholar. We aim to publish work of sufficient merit so that each journal will be indexed by ISI Web of Science and therefore become eligible for an Impact Factor in due course.
