Design, development and evaluation of new configuration of combined ejector-flash tank absorption cooling cycle

Environmental concern encourages developing more environmental friendly and energy efficient absorption refrigeration cycles. Exploiting latent potentials in existing absorption cooling systems by performing some medications in optimum way; and recovering energy from waste heat and/or utilizing it for system efficiency improvement are important keys for a higher efficiency.  In the new cycle, new ejector is used to recover part of the pressure that would otherwise be lost in the flash tank when using the FG valve. The performance comparison between the proposed cycle and ordinary combined cycle is carried out based on the first of thermodynamics. A computer simulation program has been used to evaluate the performance by adding second ejector to the combined absorption cooling system.  Ammonia –water solution has been used as working fluid. The results indicated that the improvement in overall COPs of the proposed combined cycle under generator temperature range with different condenser and evaporator temperatures about 20.9 % and 12.67 % respectively, over the combined single ejector cycle.
